Global interior boundary type: null versus spacelike pieces
open Interior / SCC
Statement
Determine whether generic near-Kerr collapse leads only to a null weak singularity near the Cauchy horizon or also to a spacelike terminal singular boundary.
Mathematical prerequisites
Global causal geometry; focusing; continuation/breakdown criteria; mixed null/spacelike boundary analysis.
Why it matters
This is the large-scale geometric version of the SCC problem inside rotating black holes.
Completion criteria
A complete answer must prove existence or absence of each boundary type for a generic class of near-Kerr data.
Implications if solved
Would reveal the global shape of the singular future boundary in rotating collapse.
